The Introduction of Participated Regions



  China


    1.Jilin Province

  Jilin has a total area of 187,400 sq.km.(1.9% of China) and a total population of 27.5 million(2.03% of China). It governs one Sub-provincial city, seven prefecture-level cities, Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, the management committee of Changbai mountains and more than 60 counties.

    2.Heilongjiang Province

  Heilongjiang has a total area of 473,000 sq.km. and a total population of 38.34 million. In Heilongjiang, there are 25 first-class ports and 10 frontier trade zones which provide favorable conditions for the cooperation in Tumen River Reign. 

    3.Liaoning Province

  Liaoning Province has a total area of 148,000 sq.km. and a total population of 43.9 million.

  Liaoning Province participates in the cooperation mainly in Dandong city which has a total area of 15,222 sq.km. and a total population of 2.455 million.

    4.Inner Mongolia

  Inner Mongolia has a total area of 1,183,000 sq.km. and a total population of 24.706 million.

  Inner Mongolia participates in the cooperation mainly in Hinggan League and Arxan Mountain-Songbeier seasonal port which have a total area of 60,000 sq.km. and a total population of 1.68 million.


  Russia

 

  Primorsky Krai

  Primorsky Krai  lies in the southeastern part of Russian Far-East, east to Japan Sea, bordering Khabarovsk Krai  in the north, China to the west and North Korea in the south respectively. It is the most populous federal subject in Far East which bears a total area of 164,700 sq.km. and a total population of 2 million.


  Korea


  1.Gangwon-do

  Gangwon-do lies in the mid-east region of Korean Peninsula, east to Japan Sea (The East Sea in Korea).It has a total area of 20,570 sq.km. and a total population of 1.5 million.Tertiary industry in Korea is accounted for 32%, 17% and 51% respectively.Korea is rich in natural mineral deposits with coal, limestone, iron ore and tungsten. Its mainly industries are food, chemical, machinery, metal manufacturing, textile, wood processing etc. Gangwon-do is also a famous tourist area with beautiful natural scenery.

  2.Gyeongsangbuk-do

  Gyeongsangbuk-do lies in the southeast of Korean Peninsula, east to East Sea of Korea, north to Kangwon and North Chungcheong, west to North Chungcheong and Jeollabuk-do, south to Ulsan. It has a total area of 19,025 sq.km. which is the  biggest provincial-level and local government and  it has a total population of 2.719 million. The coastline of Gyeongsangbuk-do is around 334.5 km. Gyeongsangbuk-do is worldwide famous for its economic strength in the sphere of electronics, steel and textile industry. It leads the industrialization progress and bears the third largest regional output in Korea.

  3.Busan

  Busan lies in the southeast of Korea, southeast to Korea Strait, west to Nakdong River 

and on the other side of Tsushima,Japan.Busan has a total area of 761.97 sq.km. and a total population of 3.8 million. It is the second largest city and the biggest harbor city and fishery city in Korea. Busan is also a coastal city with beautiful scenery.

  4.Ulsan

  Ulsan is a famous harbor city which lies in the southeast sea area of Korean Peninsula, west to Japan Sea. It has a total area of 1,055 sq.km. and a total population of 1.04 million. It is the biggest industrial city in Korea and takes 20% portion of the total gross industrial production in Korea and has the reputation of “Industrial Capital”. The typical heavy industries like shipbuilding, automobile, petroleum chemical industry etc. are the pillar industries in Ulsan. Automobile spare parts industry takes 20% portion of the total gross industrial production in Ulsan.

  5.Jeju-do

  Jeju island, the largest island in Korea, is the main part of Jeju-do. Jeju-do lies in the southwest sea area of Korean Peninsula. It has a population of more than 500 thousand and around 1.84% of the total area of Korea. Jeju island is a great resort with marvelous natural landscapes and traditional cultures, it is also have the reputation of “Oriental Hawaii”,“Honeymoon Island” and” ”Romantic island”.

  6.Incheon

  Incheon lies in the midwest of Korean Peninsula, 28 km west from Seoul. Incheon

has a total area of 958 sq.km. and a total population of 2.56 million. It is the third largest city and the second largest port (next to Busan) in Korea.


  Mongolia


  1.Dornod

  Dornod has a total area of 123,500 sq.km. and a total population of 80.8 thousand (1989) which is the third largest province of Mongolia. Its capital is Choybalsan and its industrial output is the second of Mongolia.

  2.Khentii

Khentii has a total area of 82,000 sq.km. and a total population of 90 thousand. Animal husbandry, agriculture are the pillar industries in Khentii. The output of cow is the second in Khentii and it is one of the cereal bases in Khentii.

  3.Sukhbaatar

  Sukhbaatar lies in the southeast of Mongolia and it has a total area of 82,900 sq.km.and a total population of 56 thousand. Sukhbaatar has abundance of pastures and herbs. Animal husbandry is the pillar industry of Sukhbaatar.

  4.Tov aymag (observing province)

  Tov aymag is established in 1923. It lies in the central of Mongolia and it has a total area of 81,000 sq.km. and a total population of 113 thousand. It has 140,000 hectare area under crops and the annual output of grains is around 120,000 tons (35% of Mongolia). 


  North Korea(quit in 2010)


  Rajin-Sonbong

  Rajin-Sonbong, with a superior geographic position, is located in the north of the downstream of Tumen River, bordering China and Russia  to the southeast. Rajin port and Sonbong port are free and ice-free port. Rajin port bears the capacity of 3 million tons annually while Sonbong port serves as a oil wharf which has a throughput capacity of 2-3 million tons annually. In Sonbong port, there is a specialized wharf for Unsang wood transportation bearing a capacity of 0.6 million tons annually. The standard-gage railway in the port is connected to Tumen in China and it is 92 km away from Satuozi port and 48 km away from Quanhe port. Rajin-Sonbong a total area of 890 sq.km.(470 sq.km. is set as economic and trade zone) and a total population of 191 thousand.


  Japan(Observing country) 


  Niigata 

  Niigata prefecture lies in the central of Japan alongside the coastline of Japan Sea. It has a total area of 12,582 sq.km. and a total population of 2.45 million. Niigata is the core city and transportation junction for all cities dotted alongside the coastline of Japan and also a important rice producing area.
